Jake is One!

"HAPPY BOY"
Jake is One and I must say cute as ever! He enjoys waking up with a big smile, playing with all of his brothers toys and giving big kisses. He truly is such a happy little boy, full of smiles and laughs. For his birthday we had Shane Wynn meet us at Sandrun park and take picture of the family. Here are a few she sent!

Playdates amd Birthday Parties!

Colin James!

Colin is doing really well and getting so big! He is talking so much these days and sometimes I wonder why I could not wait for him to talk. He has learned all of his colors, how to count to ten, and spell his name. :) When we drive in the car he screams from the back seat "RED light means stop, stop mom stop, stop mom, stop mom" I just do my best to stay calm and say "Hun I know I am stopped!" While he continues to scream until it turns green and then I am sure you know what happens. He is doing great at being a big brother and loves baby Jake. When Jake cannot do something Colin always says "you will be bigger and then you can Jake, it's okay, you will be big like me." Before I know it they will be playing in the mud in the backyard.

Colin is also doing really well at using the potty! He loves his friends at school and I don't mind the little break either. :)

National Champs and New Job....

The last time I added to the Porter blog was in October... how sad.  There has been so many things going on but I need to work on finding time to send updates.  As many of you know Caleb and his team won the national title.  I brought the boys out to California to see the games and my mom and Caleb's mom came too!  The weather was amazing and we spent the weekend at the pool or at the soccer field. Erin (a friend from college) and her husband were at the game to keep me calm during the crazy final last minutes.  Since the game Caleb's team has been honored in so many amazing ways. They were given the key to Akron and we should be going on a trip to Washington!  The best part of winning for our family is sitting at home months later and randomly saying "it happened Akron won"
Caleb also signed a ten year contract with Akron!  We love living here and believe it is a wonderful place to "build" a family.

I am currently working on my Masters in Instructional Technology! I am in my second semester and should finish in the spring of 2012!

This week I have decided I am going to be a STAY AT HOME MOM!!!  I let my school district know at this time it is best for me to be home with my family.  I have loved teaching but nothing compares to the feeling of being with your children.  With Caleb traveling so much it just fits!  So plan a trip to Akron!

Loving Fall!

Thank you so much to Mindy, Meagen, Seth and Monroe for making the long trip to Akron!  We had a great time seeing the kids play together and spending time with you.  Love you lots!

Jake is Four Months Old!

Jake is doing great and enjoys sucking on his fingers, reaching and holding his toys, and rolling over!  The two of us are enjoying our special time when Colin is at school.  Jake still wakes up during the night but is really happy during the day, so life is great here in the Porter house.
We had to stop taking pictures so we could have "2 dogs for 2 boys!"

Colin and I giving Jake a bath!  We do not normally give him a "bath" in the sink but it was fun for the two of us to do together.

After ten minutes of cleaning Jake, Colin wanted to be the baby in the bath!  I tried to stop him but...
When the water was cold and Jake was all dressed Colin still did not want to get out!
Do you think they look alike?

Baby Jake is 12 Weeks!

Jake will be 12 weeks old on Monday!!  He is an amazing baby and adds so much joy to our growing family.  Jake is a happy baby and sleeps great during the night! He wakes up at about 5am but feeds and falls right back to sleep.  It is funny how great a mom can feel when you only have to wake up once a night.  I know sleeping patterns change fast and tonight he maybe up 5 times but I am enjoying it while I can.  Here are a few pictures of little Jake.  Colin calls him "my baby Jake."
